Kirishima-ya

Early this week went to Kirishima-ya with colleagues (((*°▽°*)八(*°▽°*)))♪ It's my first visit there~

So happy I get to eat so much Japanese food ヽ(；▽；)ノLOL Ate like tons of sashimis and my favorite unagi I can die contented(But choii!) Neway, again photos courtesy of a colleague~ Forgot to bring my camera along...

Chef's special sashimi set anyone?

Each of us got a set of 10 pieces of sashimi sushi for ourselves! Weeeee~~

There's an uni sushi among them(the ones with wasabi in between). Wanted to try them for so long, finally had the chance to do that.

Then I ordered my favorite unagi don as main♡

... and had huge oyster baked with cheese. Another first!

Most part had this strong yucky raw taste save for one tiny chunk. Not sure if I ever gonna touch them again *shivers*

A Quick Review on my SAVEE Mini Haul

Spotted a SAVEE sale booth last week. All the masks and eyeshadow were selling for RM1 each and that tempted me to get a few to try.

I have never seen this brand in the market before so I was a bit curious and kinda had some sort of expectation that they're good because it's made in Singapore. That was what stated at the back of the packaginglah.

So walah~ Here are all the masks range that I got:

Let's start with SAVEE Face Mask in

Aloe Vera to Repair, Rehydrate and Anti-Wrinkle

and SAVEE Sleeping Paper Mask in:

Bitter Melon to Regulates Oil Secretion & Anti-inflammation

Milk to Whiten, Rehydrate, Acne and Blackheads Control

Apple Tree to Moisturise, Firm & Face-lift

Then there's the SAVEE 3D Paper Mask Series in:

Nano Platinum Placenta for Skin Rejuvenation

Soy for Spots Elimination

Papaya Enzyme for Exfoliation

So far I have tried the Aloe Vera and Milk masks and find them so-so. I find the Aloe Vera masks too thick(somewhat similar to Watson's face mask) for my liking. The Sleeping Paper Mask series has thinner sheets, so it's slightly more comfortable when putting on. Up till now I have not found any under RM10 masks that felt as comfortable as my favorite BLiv Silk masks.

Anyway, I found that both the masks I tried are scented, the Milk one having don't-know-what odd scent I didn't fancy（＞д＜）

... nothing worth going bananas about. I had two masks in two consecutive days and did not feel much difference they do to my skin. Yeah, they're actually that lousy...

For the eyeshadow, I chose the pastel turquoise, copper, pastel blue and pink~ (The copper one got destroyed a bit on the way home)

Here are the swatches for these eyeshadow:

As you can see the shades turned out moderately pigmented. The copper is just lovely but the pink turned out a much lighter and striking-er than what it looked like in the pan. Not the color that I was expecting. I could not try them earlier at the booth since there weren't testers available...

I can't seem to get the color out for both the pastel blue and turquoise though. Layering did not help much and they don't show on my eyelids even with an eyeshadow base.

The staying power for these eyeshadow is no better. Two hours after application and most of the color has fallen off. Never have one cosmetic brand who would be so thoughtful as to help me save on my makeup remover (-___-)

Overall, I'd say this brand's a tad disappointing. Did not like almost everything about their products but heck, I'm only paying peanuts for these.

Review: Daiso Eyeshadows Haul

Ohai ,(*⌒∇⌒*)ﾉ Today I'll be reviewing my Daiso eyeshadow haul I got for myself recently~

I bought 2 eyeshadow palettes from Daiso, one is the Pearl In Eyeshadow in Brown and the other is Pearl Bling Lame Eyeshadow in Pink. They're both RM5 each only! These are my cheapest eyeshadow purchase so far. Usually I wouldn't even (or rather, ever) think of getting cheap cosmetics from local non-drugstore stores. In my impression cheap cosmetic = no good.

But since it's a brand from Japan, I decided the quality would be much better and the cosmetics might be safer to apply on the skin. Bias opinion LOL (> ∇ <) I'm a true sucker for Japanese brands. I actually got the brown palette first and the colors turn out really nice, so on my second trip I got the pink one.

Now let's get started~!

Pearl In Eyeshadow in Brown

Here's the swatches for this eyeshadow:

I LOVE the brown shades and I've been using this one a lot for my daily nude makeup look.

The colors are highly pigmented and they stay well for hours(with a good makeup base)! All the shades have a moderate amount of bling that gives them a smooth satin and pearly finish_thus explains the name_without being "too much". As in, it's just perfect for casual look-lah.

My only complain would be the applicator which has tips so course I swear it's like you're using a hard toothbrush on your eyelids.

Pearl Bling Lame Eyeshadow in Pink

The second palette, the Pearl Bling Lame Eyeshadow comes in 1 cream eyeshadow and 4 other colors. This palette is also available in Purple but I didn't get it because I have too many purple shades eyeshadow already.

This palette even has a built-in mirror ~ ↓

I find the cream eyeshadow doesn't have much color so I didn't swatch it. I think it merely works as a base to accentuate the other colors but don't use it at all.

The swatches for the other 4 shades are as below ↓

You can see that these 4 shades are much more sheer and are not as pigmented as the brown palette. Plus, they have very minimal bling so when applied, they give a nice matte finish. The downside? The color is not very obvious and they don't have much staying power.

Still, the pink-brown combination is just perfect for sweet, nude look. Love the color combination a lot, I'm now hunting for more pastel pink color eyeshadow (＠⌒▽⌒＠)  Overall, I'm quite satisfied with how both of them turn out. I am thinking or trying other cosmes products from Daiso, maybe a 'Daiso Makeup Challenge' theme post? Might want to do just that haha
